Our story

Exotic Bali is an oasis of absolute freedom and liberty.

Several books and films describe it as a place where dreams come true, and where fate itself is in one’s favour. That is why it is called the Island of the Gods. Bali is a place where the soul triumphs over the body, where happiness in life is measured by inner peace, where abundance is not a condition for happiness, and where the smile is not lost from people’s faces despite life’s difficult trials. Bali is simply paradise on Earth. Julo and Ajka, who are forever linked by their fateful meeting in Bali, know this too.

Several books and films describe it as a place where dreams come true, and where fate itself favours man.

Julo and Ajka, who are forever linked by their fateful meeting in Bali, know something about it too. However, besides love, the desire to create began to grow more and more intense in them, so it didn’t take long for them to start building a stylish resort together on the island of Nusa Penida, just off Bali. But then came 2020 and with it Covid, which forced them to stop the project and come to Slovakia. Their son Riško was born here in 2021, and it was at that time that the idea of embarking on an interesting project to try to bring a piece of the miraculous and beloved Bali to Slovakia was born.

And so the Little Bali project began.

The idea of this project became real when Julo and Ajka bought an old historical building in the centre of Zvolen, right on the pedestrian zone. But first it had to be renovated, which turned out to be quite a complicated mission. The reconstruction had to fit not only into the project’s ideas, but also into the requirements of the conservation authority. Only then could it become the soul of the project that Julo and Ajka are trying to bring to Slovakia a piece of the most famous and precious things Bali has to offer.

The concept of this project was not clear from the beginning, but it did not take long for it to take an absolutely clear form. It has become a combination of four important elements that make it possible to experience the genuine Balinese atmosphere first-hand without ever visiting this exotic island. After all – why would you, when Bali itself came directly to Zvolen!

The four elements that together make up the soul of Little Bali will be a pleasure not only for the body, but also for the soul.

You can look forward to:

Bali Bistro

Bali Bistro represents the cuisine of many Indonesian regions. It is always based on fresh ingredients, spices and fresh herbs, which give the dishes a completely different dimension compared to European cuisine. The Bistro will be under the direction of a chef who has come to Slovakia directly from Bali, and there will be no shortage of exotic service. You will be able to enjoy not only culinary art, but also the true Balinese gastro atmosphere.

Bali Massage

Bali is also exceptional for its great massages based on traditional Indonesian medicine. It’s not just about the massage itself, but mainly about the overall ritual, during which the masseuses from Bali will allow you to immerse yourself in an oasis of peace and relax not only your body, but also your mind.

Bali yoga

Directly related to Bali is yoga – a magical dance of the body and soul that allows you to know yourself more deeply, to calm yourself internally, to harmonize and to relax your body and mind.

Bali Art

Indonesian art is literally a matter of the heart for Jula and Ajka. While Ajka feels a connection to her childhood, Julo sees it as an endless inspiration and has great admiration for it. Central Java is famous for several generations of artisanal teak furniture and decoration makers, which the Little Bali project is using to bring a touch of unique Balinese culture and art to Slovakia.

Little Bali is a truly unique project that brings together not only the love of food, wellness, yoga and art, but also people who put their whole heart into it. So there is no doubt that the huge enthusiasm and desire to bring a piece of Bali to Slovakia will equally touch the hearts of the guests.

They are looking forward to seeing you,

Julo, Ajka and the entire Little Bali project team
